New Year, New Start

For me, there are actually 4 events in a single year where a New Year begins:

1) January 1st
2) April 23rd (my birthday)
3) Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year
4) The start of a new semester

There's nothing better than a clean slate, oh wait... there's nothing better than four clean slates. This gives you the opportunity and freedom to have a complete lack of judgement in certain situations, to slip up on your studies, to procrastinate, to be rude to people (if necessary of course), to go weeks without doing a load of laundry, to pretend like you don't even see the homeless man on the street corner begging for money, to be late, to make mistakes, essentially to be a human-being. Because no matter how many times you 'mess up', there's always next year to amend the statutes of your life - to make minor adjustments, or what I like to call "house-keeping".

Let's see what this New Year's brings... until the next one that is.

I like how you have four new starts in a year!
